BEIJING, Dec. 7 -- "Japan's related hypes are completely inconsistent with the facts. We sternly urge the Japanese side to immediately cease its slanderous and defamatory acts against China and strictly discipline its front-line operations," said Senior Captain Wang Xuemeng, spokesperson for the Chinese PLA Navy, on Sunday.

The spokesperson noted that the Chinese PLA Navy's Liaoning aircraft carrier task group recently conducted normal flight training for the carrier-based fighter jets in the designated sea and air areas east of the Miyako Strait, and the training zones were announced in advance.

However, the Japanese Self-Defense Force's aircraft repeatedly approached and disrupted the training zones of the Chinese aircraft carrier task group, seriously affecting the normal operations and posing a serious threat to the flight safety, said the spokesperson.

The Chinese PLA Navy will take necessary measures in accordance with the law to firmly safeguard its security and legitimate rights and interests, stressed the spokesperson.
